Personal Barrel Lot of 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from Beckstoffer’s Famed Georges III Heritage Vineyard and Crafted by Sinegal Estate
Beckstoffer Vineyards will provide ½ ton of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the 2016 harvest of the famed Georges III heritage vineyard in Rutherford to the expert winemaking team at Sinegal Estate who will custom crush, craft, barrel, age, bottle, and label the finished wine specifically for the successful bidder.
This 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon single barrel lot will undergo each of the Sinegal precision-steps of winemaking, utilizing Georges III Vineyard grapes as the sole source and aging for two years in a Taransaud T5 French oak barrel. The wine will be carefully crafted by the winemaking tandem of Tony Biagi and Ryan Knoth who will oversee the entire project. When ready to be released in early 2019, the winning bidder will receive 25 cases of their own 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon.
One of Beckstoffer Vineyards’ six heritage vineyards, the Georges III Vineyard was first planted back in 1895 by Mrs. Thomas Rutherford. Purchased in 1928 by Beaulieu founder Georges de Latour, the vineyard was home to BV’s Rutherford Cabernets made by the renowned winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff. Under Beckstoffer ownership since 1988, Georges III has been replanted using new clones and advanced trellising systems, and 181 of its 300 acres have been placed under a conservation easement forever prohibiting non-agricultural development.
With heritage that dates back to 1881, Sinegal Estate is layered with diversity. From the botanical gardens to the private lake and from the newly completed wine caves and lounges to the magnificent front lawn and the storied Cabernet Franc parcel, Sinegal offers highly unique and sought-after experiences, as well as world-class wine.
