With the understanding that recovery, rebuilding, and renewal take time, we’re committed to a long-term effort to raise awareness and funds for survivors of the Valley Fire.
In the first 15 days after the Valley Fire swept through the southern area of Lake County and decimated communities like Cobb, Middletown, and Anderson Springs, #LakeCountyRising emerged as a way for individuals and businesses to respond and provide financial assistance to those affected by the fire.
In the following days, organizers established a steering committee to generate awareness, solicit funds beyond Lake County borders, and guide the distribution of funds to assist individuals, businesses, and organizations where the need is acutely felt.
Members of the steering committee include Kaj Ahlmann, President, Lake County Wine Alliance, and Owner, Six Sigma Ranch; Andy Beckstoffer, Chair and Owner, Beckstoffer Vineyards; Rob Brown, District 5 Supervisor, County of Lake; Elizabeth Gore, Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Dell; Peter Molnar, Partner and General Manager, Obsidian Ridge Vineyards; Brad Onorato, District Representative for U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson; Tiffany Ortega, Assistant Administrator, Sutter Lakeside Hospital.
The steering committee continues to raise funds through individuals, corporate supporters, and the upcoming Charity Wine Auction. At the same time, the steering committee is actively working with organizations in need and distributing funds to those affected by the fires in Lake County. Please contact us to learn more.
